Contest Day Something: Weigh-in Day!

I told Holly from the beginning that she'd have to be in charge of keeping track of the days, as my ability to remember stuff like that is not so great. Most days I'm lucky if I can remember my children's names.

Anyhoodle, don't you hate it when people say some variation of "anyway?" I sure do. But that aside, it's Friday! Hooray! Time to weigh in! And use exclamation points way more than necessary!

When you post your weight, also tell us something that you did this week that you're proud of. Of which you are proud. Grammar shmammar. It can be anything at all, such as not eating the entire package of oreos. That's just a random example I pulled out of the air. No matter how big or how small, there has to be something about this week that you did well, and we want to know what it is! If you're e-mailing us your weigh-in, still post a comment about your accomplishment(s) this week.

147.5 down 1.5 from last week; 2 total. I teach school so I am most proud of the fact that I made it through this week with most of sanity intact and did so without putting myslef in a food coma : ) We have hubby's family for Christmas this weekend so no promises for proud moments next week.

I made it out of bed and into the gym every morning this week :) I also bought a new digital scale - Hate It! 282.2 Up .2; probably more accurate than the old scale...

down 1.5, so I'm back to where I started...it's a step in the right direction, anyway...

142.4 lbs. Hmmm, is there a prize for the person that stays closest to their original starting weight?

170; down 2 from last week, although I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same or back up a couple pounds next weigh-in. (Let's just say something didn't agree with my tummy last night, which might have spurred this loss, considering I hadn't eaten very well this past week.)

It's been a quiet week for accomplishing things I'm proud of, so I guess I'll give myself props for going downstairs to finish a book while I battled my tummy demons instead of complaining all night to my sleeping husband ;)

147.2 - down 1 lb. from last week. The scale at Weight Watchers put me much lower, and although I'm sure their scale is more precise I'm just posting what my home scale says.

This week I did great! Thanks to Sara's post a while back about the 12-week-exercise-don't-break-the-chain idea, I have successfully made it 3 weeks of exercising 6 days a week. I've also been tracking everything I eat, which has really helped me avoid all the Christmas goodies. :)

291.7 lbs. That is a good 8 lbs since the start of this thing...and I haven't really exercised at all because of snow storm after snow storm after snow storm (and me staying in bed).

Yippee!

I was feeling pretty good about my 2.5 loss from this week plus my 1.5 from last week until I read about Marie's 8 pound loss!! You go girl!

I'm proud of my revived love affair with the salad. I've been eating lots of it all week. Oooh, and last night as I was on the go I stopped at Wendy's for a single Jr. cheeseburger.......no pop.....no fries. Yes folks, I call that a success!

175.5...we went to Disneyland last weekend, so things could have been worse.

I am proud of the fact that even though I gained this week, that my husband and I shared all of our meals at Disneyland. I am sure it saved me tons of calories, it also saved us money.

Down 1 after maintaining the first week. Yippee!

After getting the suggestion to give myself a star or something since I don't like writing things down, I have to say that I 'earned' 23 stars this last week. Mostly little choices, some big ones, but seeing those on a random piece of paper I stuck to my fridge is strangely empowering!

I am down 3 pounds this week. I am proud that I am doing a "12 Days of Christmas" Challenge at my gym-- between Dec 8-31, I have to take 12 different types of group exercise classes. I have already done 10 of them! I am proud that working out seems to finally paying off- I can see a really difference in my endurance.

THing I learned this week: I can eat anything I want. I just can't always eat it whenever I want it and how much I want of it.

141.2 -- which is .4 down from last week (a Christmas miracle!!), but is still up from my original weigh-in weight of 140.4. I think I should get the award for the comment with the most decimal points! :)

The things I am LEAST proud of are that I ate about 20 of these candies called Dewar's Chews, 1.5 pieces of fudge, and a whole mini-loaf of pumpkin-chocolate chip bread that our nice neighbors brought us. Oh, and about half of the big ol' Symphony bar that my daughter received at her piano recital on Saturday.

The thing I am MOST proud of is that I walked to school and back (perhaps it was UP HILL both ways?!) yesterday in a SNOW storm to hear my kids in the Christmas Sing. Oh, and I DIDN'T eat any of the bazillion cookies that were offered at the church Christmas party last Friday night.

I am at 161.4 which is .2 up from last week, but still .6 down total. I am trying to think of what I did well this week, but I think that maybe I just GOT THROUGH IT. I went back to a new part time job after being home with my son for a year and a half. It is a big change and, when change or hardship comes, the portions double :) But I am ready for this next week. Bring on Christmas!

166.1 - Down from last week...which is a miracle. I'm most proud that I've managed to keep up the exercise this week, and haven't inhaled all of the goodies that have been coming into me from my students all week.

148 - I went to the gym 3x this week despite these snowy cold days. :)

154.1. Approximately the same as last week--which is one thing that makes me proud. The fact that it is the lowest I have been (since skyrocketing) and I have not gained an ounce since, makes me very happy. I was not particularly careful with WHAT I ate, but HOW much I ate this week.

The other thing that makes me proud, is the fact that I have been going to the gym 5 days a week EVERY week since February. Even though I was there from 11:30pm-12:15am last night/this morning, I still went and was super proud of myself. That was extremely difficult for me.

I'm the same 200. BO-RING. The holidays are not helping either. And maybe if people would STOP dropping plates of treats off at my door, I would lose some weight.

Although I am proud that I only licked my fingers few times while I made white chocolate covered pretzels. (instead of licking the bowl, spoon.....etc)

Can't believe I lost 3 pounds this week! Down 4 total! (And with two potluck dinners also.)

Hey are you gals going to add up all the poundage lost with everyone combined at the end of the competition. That would be neat-o to see.

Where is Amy Lawson???? I read all the comments hoping to see some verbal sparring between her and MY BFF Joolee.(you go girl! 4 pounds is awesome!)

Rachel said...

Oh, I forgot to add that I'm proud of myself for exercising 3 times this week. Woo-hoo!

Holly said...

Hey everyone! Thanks for your posts so far. It takes guts and determination to stick to this thing, whether you're losing or gaining.

I'm 187.5 today. That's UP .5 from last week.

The good thing I did this week? Uh...I didn't eat my daughter's discarded Frosty last night!

Darn those delightful Christmas cookies! I am up 2 lbs for this week. Thankfully, all of the good ones are gone, now the temptation is gone as well.

My NSV was NOT eating fast food after a late night trip to the grocery store without eating supper beforehand. I went thru the entire store thinking about where I was going to eat, even looking in my wallet to see how much cash I had. Seeing only 3 meesley dollars, I thought about my very few options. I was giddy when I reached into my pocket to get my gloves and found $8!! I could eat wherever I wanted...Yippee! Then I got in my car and drove home. I knew that I didn't need to eat junk and I didn't need to spend any money on food that would sabotage my journey. Why is grease so allouring?

Uh, 126.5 poun-duhs. Finals week throws me through a loop, a few actually.

Something worth mentioning? I (a non-business major) completed my business calc course .. . now let's just see if I pass! Hee.

OOPS! I forgot- and I just ate a GINORMOUS dinner so no way in hell am I weighing myself now. I promise I will tomorrow!

My sister is still gonna win.

As for me, I'm down a pound from last week, my boobs are huge, and I have a new boyfriend. Life is so good.

3 pounds?! Go Rachel!!!!

Down 1 more pound...so 218. Pretty good considering all the Christmas parties. I guess I'm glad I didn't sample the entire buffet today.

160 lbs., my goal to reach before Christmas. So, I am most proud of reaching my goal a week early. I just hope I haven't peaked too early, you know, there is still a lot of Christmas and New Year's food to avoid.

Also, I didn't wimp out on my muay thai classes this week, and it's been 100+ every day. Did I mention that it doesn't feel like Christmas here? At all. But maybe that's helping the diet...

I'm at 180. Down---> 6.5 lbs. I'm now at my pre-pregnancy weight from child #2. 30 lbs. more to go. I can do this! I can do this!
This week I was tempted by all the holiday goodies. I ate some but resisted most.

Debbie said...

149, that's up 1# from last week. I engaged in some form of exercise 5/7 days this week AND I wrapped all my Christmas presents.

Down 1.5 to 223.5. This seems like lots of work for 4 and a half pounds!!! But at least it is in the right direction.

I am proud of putting my pride aside and going to a counselor to discuss my unhealthy relationship with food.

194.4 I believe that is down 2.4 pounds!

Things I did differently this week:
Stopped the nighttime snacking fiasco way of life.
Swam laps. No sweets at the school functions, no kisses, mini reeses cups, gum drops etc...

Still at 180. Could be worse. I really expected to go down but there is always another week.
This week I worked out a lot so I am proud of that. Sore, but still proud.

I have no idea what happened to my comment from Saturday. My computer was super slow & I guess it didn't load or something. Anyway, my weight this week was 213.6. I'm not sure if that's even up or down from the previous 2 weeks. I am proud that I was able to make Christmas goodies without over-indulging!
